It’s probably pretty obvious I’m enjoying posting all this new Daft Punk info related to their new Random Access Memories record.
A recent ad at Coachella premiered Daft Punk wearing sparkling outfits designed by Saint Laurent and Dior fashion designer Hedi Slimane. The sequinned look is a departure from their leather biker suits of old.
I’m going to make a bold prediction and say that not only is this new record going to flip the entire electronic dance music scene on its head, but re-introduce disco to the mainstream. This includes the sartorial influence of disco as well (tastefully speaking). Let’s not forget that before house music there was disco. What’s old is new again, and I’m looking to the Robots to bring the groove back to electronic music.
